Partner Patrick Fife recently obtained a favorable decision on appeal in the Appellate Division, First Department, dismissing the few remaining claims against the firm’s client, a prominent South Fork construction company, in a construction dispute with a homeowner over a renovation project in Sagaponack.

Over the course of nearly 3 years, the homeowner had relentlessly pursued extensive claims in arbitration proceedings before the American Arbitration Association, in the New York State Supreme Court, and before a local licensing review board.

Patrick won the case at every level, defeating the plaintiff’s claims for hundreds of thousands of dollars as well as unfounded charges of construction defects and abandonment of the project.

Through Patrick’s efforts, the builder was completely exonerated by each of the tribunals with jurisdiction over the case.
