A. Chadwick Briedis

A. Chadwick Briedis is an associate in the Labor & Employment Group. His focus is on all forms of corporate operating design, litigation and negotiation, primarily in the area of labor and employment law, arising under the NLRA, RLA, Jones Act, Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, ADEA, FLSA, SCA, ERISA, E.O. 11246, Rehabilitation Act, VEVRAA, OSHA, ADA, FMLA, SCA, FCRA, FCA, as well as the numerous state statutory schemes impacting the workplace throughout the U.S.

Chad received his Bachelor of Arts from the State University of New York at Geneseo, where he majored in History with a minor in Native American Law and Public Policy. Chad received his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law. While attending law school, Chad was a student attorney in the Betty and Michael D. Wohl Veterans Legal Clinic, where he represented U.S. military veterans in disputes with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Chad also participated, as a student attorney, in the Low Income Taxpayer Clinic, where he represented individuals with tax deficiencies in Federal Tax Court and helped people resolve IRS disputes. Chad graduated from the Syracuse University College of Law a semester early and received the Pinnacle Award for Corporate Compliance.

Chad spent his formative years living on and around U.S. military bases where both his parents were active members in the United States Air Force. As a result, Chad has lived in many different parts of New York, the United States and the world. His diverse cultural upbringing has helped him to gain an understanding into perspective biases and is a part of his strategy in solving legal issues.

Prior to attending law school, Chad had an extensive employment background in the ski industry. He worked his way to a supervisory position at Christy Sports in Deer Valley, Utah and was a manager of the Ski Rack in East Aurora, New York. His time at Deer Valley introduced him to the practical and everyday issues that affect the operation of a successful business, including hiring, discharge, and day-to-day management of its employees. While in Utah, Chad was able to work with U.S. Ski Team members and coaches on equipment issues and the technical aspects of competitive and professional skiing.

Chad is admitted to practice in the State of New York, and he is a member of the New York State Bar Association.
