Biography
Mr. Bahrenburg has a general practice with an emphasis in alternative dispute resolution. A skilled mediator, he has served privately and as a court appointed mediator and trial referee for the State Courts of Connecticut. Recently returned to New York, he has extensive experience as corporate counsel primarily in not-for- profit and regulatory environments, in education law both as school district and parent/child counsel. He has also practiced as labor and employment counsel before administrative tribunals and before the Federal and State courts of New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts. He has served a number of employers as chief negotiator in the facilitation of their collective bargaining agreements. He has also taught labor and employment law in colleges in New York and Connecticut. Experienced bankruptcy counsel, he has litigated civil matters in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts, and has served as the Chapter "13" litigation specialist for now deceased trustee Gilbert Rosenbaum.
Education
Mr. Bahrenburg received his Bachelors Degree from the University of Hartford in 1969, his MS in Secondary Education from Hofstra University in 1970. He is ABD at New York University, where he earned his SDS and SDA certifications. He was awarded a Juris Doctorate from Touro Law School in 1982 where he was awarded the outstanding graduate award and served as the Editor in Chief of the Law Review.
Mr. Bahrenburg is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of New York and Connecticut. He holds permanent New York State Education licenses as superintendent of schools, a building administrator, a secondary teacher of history and English. He holds numerous certificates of completion in mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
