Biography
Ms. Stiles has a general practice with a focus on real estate, land use, environmental and municipal law. She also provides counsel in corporate transactions and litigation.
Ms. Stiles offers her clients over eight years of experience with environmental and regulatory matters involving all levels of government. Recently, she served on the Suffolk County Council on Environmental Quality, which advises the County Executive and Legislature on environmental affairs.
During law school, Ms. Stiles interned for the Brookhaven Town Law Department and the Suffolk County Department of Planning where she handled real estate and zoning matters. She also worked as a paralegal for a solo practitioner whose practice was focused on criminal defense and family law.
Prior to law school, Ms Stiles worked for several non-profit advocacy groups where she specialized in government relations and litigation support.
Ms. Stiles resides with her husband in East Moriches. She is a Board Member of the New York League of Conservation Voters and the East Moriches Property Owners' Association. She is also involved with the Manorville-East Moriches Civic Association, the Long Island Environmental Voters Forum, and Brookhaven Town Democrat's Law and Judicial Screening Committees.
Education
Ms, Stiles earned a J.D. and a Certificate in Environmental Law, with honors, from Pace University School of Law in Westchester. She was a student attorney at the Pace Environmental Litigation Clinic where she managed complex federal litigation. For her efforts she received the Hon. Issac D. Rubin Clinical Lawyering Award, which is awarded to the most outstanding student in all of Pace Law School's clinical programs by the White Plains Bar Association. She was also the Co-Founder of the Pace Law School Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, the Legislative Policy Director of the Pace Law School Democrats and the Lobbying Committee Chair of the Environmental Law Society.
She obtained her B.A. in Earth and Space Science, and a minor in Marine Science, from SUNY Stony Brook. During college she served as a Senator in the Student Polity Association where she negotiated a multi-million dollar budget for SUNY Stony Brook's student organizations.
